पूर्व जनरल वीके सिंह का संक्षिप्त परिचय

जनरल विजय कुमार सिंह ने भारतीय सेना में अपनी सेवा के दौरान देश के प्रति अमूल्य योगदान दिया. वे भारतीय सेना के 24वें सेनाध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्यरत रहे और 2012 में सेवानिवृत्त हुए. इसके बाद 2014 में उन्होंने भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) का हिस्सा बनकर राजनीति में कदम रखा. 2014 के लोकसभा चुनाव में उन्होंने उत्तर प्रदेश की गाजियाबाद सीट से चुनाव लड़ा और कांग्रेस नेता व अभिनेता राज बब्बर को 5.67 लाख वोटों के बड़े अंतर से हराकर जीत दर्ज की. 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में भी उन्होंने इसी सीट से सफलता हासिल कर अपनी लोकप्रियता को बरकरार रखा.
